Close Games for Rockets
By Liam McKinley

Rochester lost their 4th straight game when the Twinfield Trojans clobbered them out on the road. Rochester just could not get their shots to fall as Twinfield pounded away at the Rockets’ defense.

With a strong first half, the Trojans were able to build up a large lead to take into half-time. The Rockets were not able to come back even with a big push in the 4th quarter to bring the game within 11. Pat Crowley led the Rockets with 17 points and Alex Kelly added 12. The final score was 49-38.

O.T. Loss to Poultney

Underdog Rochester gave Poultney a scare but lost in overtime on a buzzer-beating, fading bank shot in the lane, off an offensive rebound that put the Blue Devils up by two. Poultney won, 45-43.

The Rockets had, at one point in the game, built up an 11-point lead and seemed ready to put the game away. Poultney battled back in the second half to tie the game at 39 and send the game into OT.

With time running out, Poultney’s Bob Scott drove and took the jump shot. Rochester forwards, Fuller and Crowley, had great position for a rebound, but as the ball rimmed out and took a strange bounce, Poultney was able to get off one more shot to beat the buzzer and the Rockets. The final score was 45-43 and the Rockets lose their fifth straight.
