Lillian Maloney BRAINTREE—Lillian B. Maloney, 79, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008 at the Gifford Medical Center in Randolph. She was born September 6, 1928 in Northfield, the daughter of Wendall and Guila (Herbert) Boardman. She was a graduate of Northfield High School. She was a United States Air Force veteran, having enlisted in 1951 and been honorably discharged in 1953. She married Richard Staples December 22, 1956 in Berlin. He died May 16, 1971. She married Richard Maloney March 2, 1974 in Northfield. He died August 24, 1994. She worked for Vermont Vital Records in Montpelier for many years, retiring in the early 1990s. She enjoyed feeding and watching her birds, as well as writing daily in her journal. She was predeceased by her son, Kevin Thomas. Survivors include her daughter, Marlene Poirier of Barre; a sister, Anna Beaulieu of Colchester; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There were no calling hours. A funeral service took place Saturday, Jan. 5 at the Kingston Funeral Home in Northfield. Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Northfield in the spring.
