Ruth Bannister

BETHEL—Ruth F. Bannister, 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 at her home in Bethel.

She was born November 7, 1928 in New York, N.Y., the daughter of Fred and Edla (Larson) Carlson.

She was raised in Oyster Bay, N.Y. and later lived in Reading, Conn. for many years. She also lived in Winthrop, Maine, before moving to Bethel in 1998.

Survivors include her son, James Bannister of Bethel; three daughters: Leslie Stevens of Bernardston, Mass.; Valerie Bannister of Chester, Conn.; and Kyra Bannister of Elmira, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
