•Old School Freight Train, which blends pop-fueled bluegrass with soulful jazz improvisations and Celtic and Latin rhythms; shares the bill with the Carolina Chocolate Drops, a trio of young musicians reviving the African-American string-band tradition of the rural North Carolina Piedmont; 7 p.m., Spaulding Auditorium, Hopkins Center, Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H. •Middlebury Community Wind Ensemble presents a free concert of music by Percy Grainger, Gustav Holst and Franz von Suppe played by 45 woodwind, brass and percussion players from around the state; 7 p.m., Center for the Arts, Middlebury College.
