Robert R. Jensen

ROCHESTER—Robert R. Jensen, 81, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at Haven Health Care in Rutland.

He was born January 20, 1926 in Waltham, Mass., the son of Jens and Evelyn (Adshade) Jensen. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II, and was a self-employed vinyl siding and trim installer. He lived in Massachusetts before retiring to Hancock in 1991, then moved to Rochester in 1995.

He enjoyed camping at Mountain Trails, spending Friday nights listening to Frank Sinatra and big bands in his basement bar, and playing pool and cards with his friends.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Jensen of Rochester; a dear friend, Roger St. Amand, who was like a son, and Roger’s wife, Eileen of Richmond, Maine; a daughter, Karen Eastman of Ocala, Fla.; a step-daughter, Suzanne Lesch and her husband, Will, of Milford, Mass.; a sister, Shirley Jensen of Brooksville, Fla.; many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and Sam and Julianne Lesch, who knew him as "Grumpy."

Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Hancock Village Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
