Savings Might Be
Even More

You wrote (12/27) on the possibility of a re-vote on the expenditure of the monies already bonded for a new town "hall," that the value of the old town hall is about $150,000.

In checking with some local real estate people, their view is that the town hall's value is closer to $275,000 because of its prime location, adjacent parking, well maintained condition, and the size of the lot.

If this is so, then the savings to the taxpayers of moving the town offices into the former co-op building would be in excess of $500,000.
