Rockets over Concord After losing two straight, the Rockets needed the win over Concord. After coming out strong with their biggest lead of the game in the first quarter, the Wildcats stormed back to keep the game close for the rest of the contest. At the half the Rockets went down by five, but with some quick scores and lockdown defense they were once again able to take the lead. With time winding down in the fourth and the Wildcats hitting their free throws down the stretch, Rochester found themselves down by one with four seconds left. Alex Kelly missed a 10-footer, which would have given the team the lead. Taylor Fuller fouled to send Concord to the line. The Wildcats missed their first shot and Fuller pulled in the rebound and threw a Hail Mary pass down court to a wide open Kelly who hit the lay-up to put Rochester ahead by one, 55-54, as the buzzer sounded. Fuller led the Rockets with 16 points; both Kelly and Pat Crowley had 12, McKinley added 8 and Ethan White with 7. Brandon Bolton led the Wildcats with 17. ____________ |
