Dawn came clear and bright on Monday, Dec. 24 as Herald photographer Bob Eddy shot this stunning photograph from the top of Braintree Hill, looking toward the Randolph Center-Brookfield ridge.

The winter has already delivered two snowstorms of 12 inches or more, and numerous smaller snow squalls, so the brief periods of rain last Sunday did nothing to disturb the heavy snow cover which clings to the fields and forests.
