•First Night Burlington 2008, the 25th anniversary of this substance-free New Year’s Eve festival of the arts, with more than 12 hours of performances in downtown Burlington; MainStage artists include Rusty DeWees, Kilimanjaro, the Vermont Youth Orchestra, Burlington Taiko, the Vermont Divas Collaboration, and FOOLZ; 12 noon-midnight. •Benefit dinner and dance with spaghetti dinner at 6:30 p.m., and dance with music by the zydeco band, "Goat Broke Loose," 9-11 p.m., Barrett Hall, Strafford. Proceeds benefit improvements for the hall building.
