Markle To Represent the U.S.

At Pan-Amer. Maccabi Games

Ari Markle, a senior at Cleveland State University and the grandson of Bill and Mary Markle of Braintree Hill, will represent the United States as part of the U.S. Open Swim Team at the 11th Pan American Maccabi Games. The Games will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina from Dec. 26 through Jan. 2.

Markle, co-captain of the CSU Swim Team, was also an impressive swimmer in high school, where he was a two-year captain and swam with the Wildcat Aquatic Club under Coach Frank Zatko and was twice a state finalist.

"I’m honored to represent the U.S. and my faith at these Games," Markle commented. "I want to compete at my highest level and honor my paternal grandparents in Vermont."

"Maccabi USA/Sports for Israel will send a contingent of close to 500 to the 11th Pan American Maccabi Games, joining an estimated 3,000 athletes from more than 20 countries.

Since 1948, Maccabi USA/Sports for Israel has sought to enrich the lives of Jewish youth in the United States, Israel and the rest of the world through athletic, cultural and educational programs.
