Muriel E. Moxley

RANDOLPH CENTER—Muriel Elizabeth Moxley, 86, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.

She was born May 8, 1921 in Whiting, Maine, the daughter of Ralph and Martha (Whitney) Guptil.

She attended Lubec, Maine schools and graduated from Lubec High School in 1938 as salutatorian of her class. She also received several other academic awards

She married Fordyce C. Moxley January 3, 1941 in Seabrook, N.H. They lived in East Randolph, until moving to Randolph Center in 1964.

She enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, gardening and cooking. In earlier years she liked to read. She especially enjoyed being with her family. Her memberships included the East Randolph Baptist Church, the Middle Branch Grange and the Home Dem Club.

Survivors include her three daughters: Martha Lawrence and husband, Ernie, of Randolph; Sandra Gascon and husband, Ron, of Montpelier; and Patricia Hemenway and husband, Don, of Middletown Springs; a sister, Dorothy Redmon of Suffolk, Va.; four grandsons: Steve Gilman of East Montpelier, Doug Gilman of St. Albans, Mike Lawrence of Randolph and Chris Lawrence of Breckenridge, Colo.; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband in 2000 and two brothers, Whitney and Warren Guptil.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
