Our Veterans
And Freedom

I am saddened by a story that a friend of mine shared regarding a recent attempt to show appreciation for what we have today.

A local library was letting people know of an upcoming event—free coffee and donuts at the town library for veterans and their families. A sign was made "Veterans and their Families, Thank you for our Freedom."

Some patrons of the library requested that the sign be taken down because it was too "political" and really upset them. I am upset at their request. What is wrong with thanking our veterans for our freedom?

Nobody wanted any of the wars in our history…but those veterans did protect the freedoms we have today…how can that those facts be "too political?" It is the history of our country! It is reality.

Those patrons need to check their history books and go find a veteran to thank for the life we have here in the United States.
