Green Mt. Gospel Chapel Celebrates W/ Concert, Speaker The Green Mountain Gospel Chapel will continue to celebrate its 50-year anniversary Saturday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. with a concert by Journey Home of Wilton, Maine. Journey Home is a singing group that includes Jody (Howard) Savage and her family. Jody, who grew up in Randolph, sings with her three sons, while her husband, Kyle, manages the sound system. Rev. Bill Nilsen, who followed church founder Rev. John Genco in the pulpit, will be the guest speaker Sunday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. There will be special music and a holiday dinner following the service. Rev. Nilsen came to Randolph in the summer of 1970 to pastor the Green Mountain Gospel Chapel. For a year, he also served as pastor of the Congregational Church of Brookfield, while pastoring Green Mountain Chapel. In 1973, the family moved to Cortland, N.Y. He later traveled for almost 10 years ministering in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. Most of this ministry was to National Pastors and Bible School students.
