Julian H. White

RANDOLPH–Julian H. White, 86, died Wednesday evening, Nov. 14, 2007 at Gifford Medical Center.

He was born May 22, 1921 in Uvalda, Ga, the son of Robert W. and Viola (Chambers) White. He was raised in Georgia and Texas, and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict.

He married Betty Jean Francis in Stratford, Conn. in 1950, and they lived there for many years. He operated Leon’s Delicatesen in Bridgeport, Conn. for many years, and moved to Randolph in 1975.

He was Past Commander of the American Legion Post #9, and enjoyed raising farm animals, playing guitar, and being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean White, of Randolph; three sons, Albert White of Naugatuck, Conn.; Harvey White of Hamden, Conn.; and Craig White of Randolph; a daughter, Cheryn Larocque of Brookfield; a brother, Albert Braddock, of Macon, Ga.; a sister, Videlle Davis of Athens, Ga.; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by seven brothers and two sisters.

Private family services will be held at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. There are no calling hours.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association, P.O. Box 976, White River Jct., Vt. 05001. Arrangements are by the Day Funeral Home of Randolph.
