Doris P. Fleming

WEIDEN, GERMANY—Doris P. Fleming, 42, died October 20, 2007 in Weiden, Germany, where she was being treated for cancer.

She was born November 15, 1964, in a U.S. Army hospital in Neurnberg, Germany, the daughter of Jerome W. and Rosemarie Binn. When she was seven, her parents settled in the small village of Katzweiler, Germany, where she grew up and attended school.

At the age of 17, she met her husband, Thomas H. Fleming of Bethel. They were married for 25 years. She had many hobbies, and enjoyed cooking, taking care of her family and looking out for and helping other Army wives in need.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas H. Fleming of Bethel; two daughters, Michele R. Fleming of Bethel, and Christine N. Rodgers of Sharon; two grandchildren, Savannah and Brendon; her mother-in-law and father in-law, Howard and Bethel Fleming of Bethel; two brothers-in-law, Eric A. Fleming of Jeffersonville, and Perry D. Fleming of Rochester; her mother, Rosmarie Binn, and brother, Dereck Binn, both of Katzweiler, Germany; and many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews from both the U.S. and Germany.

Burial took place October 31, 2007 in a small cemetery in the village where she grew up.

The family requests that people do not send flowers. Please make any donations to the Cancer Society in memory of Doris P. Fleming.
