Hopes Many Will
Attend Forum

The Vermont Child Poverty Council will hold a public forum at the Randolph Elementary School Cafeteria from 6 p.m. until 8:30 on Tuesday, Nov. 6. The purpose of the forum is to get input from members of the public in the Central Vermont area.

The Council hopes to gain insight and information on the circumstances and causes of child poverty and hear people’s ideas on how to work to reduce child poverty by 50% in ten years.

The effects and consequences of child poverty have an impact not only on the families experiencing poverty, but on the cost of education, the cost of the judicial and corrections system, and  the cost of social programs, both now and into the future. This is an issue that has an impact on all of us, so I hope many people will be able to attend the forum and share their ideas with the Council.
