Lady Hornets
End Season 7-7

Last week I acknowledged the Hornet seniors with the exception of one, so I would like to do so now before I forget again. "Congratulations and here’s to you"…Emily Wright!

The Whitcomb Lady Hornets fell to their Blue Mountain Union Buck hosts in their final game of the regular season and ended up with a 7-up and 7-down record.

BMU scored twice in the first half and once in the second half while holding Whitcomb to a single goal in the first half of the 3-1 contest. An early deposit by Buck Katelyn Thompson off a Marissa Gagnon helper had the Hornets in the hole before freshman Brittany Flint notched her fifth varsity career goal off a feed from Molly Taylor for a tie at the 14-minute mark. Unfortunately, Blue Mountain Union retook the lead when Natalie Page scooped the orb in before the half for a 2-1 break time lead.

In the second half neither team scored until five minutes past the midway mark, when once again Thompson netted her second goal and the third and final Buck tally of the game. Buck keeper Kayla Thibault made nine saves while Hornet Laurel Adams had 12 saves.

Blue Mountain Union finishes the season 9-4-1 and is the #2 seed in D-IV. Whitcomb, at 7-7, is the #9 seed.
