On Friday the 5th, the Rochester girls took the long bus ride to Craftsbury. The Rockets came out strong and scored in the first half off of junior Krystal Bowen’s corner kick. The ball was fumbled a few times in front of the goal, but finally sophomore Allyson Paquette got it in. It was an intense and evenly matched game for Rochester, but they held on to their lead until the final buzzer. The final score was 1-0, making it Rochester’s 6th win. Sharon Meets Rockets On Tuesday the 9th, Sharon headed over to Rochester, only to be disappointed. Sharon wasn’t able to score but Rochester scored often. Early in the game, sophomore Caitlin Cutting put one in and was assisted by senior Desiree Bourassa. Shortly after, Bowen scored one with an assist from Cutting. Wrapping up the first half, freshman Alicia Waite got in a goal with help from freshman Taylor Benson. Heading into the second half, Waite scored once again, this time with the assist from freshman Miranda Shepard. This game makes Rochester’s record 7-5. Even though this game held a lot of action from the underclassmen, it was actually senior night. Rochester has two players who have played with the Rockets since they were freshmen, Samantha Mishkit and Desiree Bourassa. Also recognized was team manager, Mercedes Campbell. ____________ |
