Tough Week The Randolph Gal Ghosts fell to Lyndon last Wednesday, 2-0. The Ghosts played a very offensive game. They took 27 shots in the game, but all were straight to the goalie making for easy saves. Lyndon was more fortunate with their goals. They took advantage of the Ghosts defensive mistakes. D. Shufeit scored with 28:50 left in the half and then assisted G. Lemnah with 15:04 remaining in the half. The score was 2-0 in favor of Lyndon at the half. The Gal Ghosts came out fighting in the second half but weren't able to score. It was a good effort but the Ghosts lost 2-0. Arielle Connolly and Erica Webber combined for 10 saves in the game. Loss at U-32 in O.T. The Gal Ghosts traveled to U-32 on Friday, losing the game 2-1 in an overtime effort. The Ghosts came out really strong, scoring only :50 seconds into the game. Amanda Gerstenmaier scored, assisted by Gwen Reis. The Ghosts held U-32 for the remainder of the half, but weren't able to score again themselves. The half ended with Randolph ahead 1-0. The Ghosts came out a bit slower in the second half, but they managed to stay aggressive and held off the Raiders until 6:04 left. C. Puleio scored to tie the game, 1-1. The Ghosts couldn't score again and regular time ended 1-1. It wasn't much of an overtime, as the Raiders came out running and scored only one minute into the OT, ending the game. It was another tough lose for the Ghosts. Webber had seven saves in the game. Montpelier Loss Randolph played Montpelier in a rainy-day game on Tuesday and fell to the Solons 4-0, but not without a good effort. Montpelier controlled most of the first half with Randolph only taking one shot on goal. Montpelier put the ball in the net twice in the half. The first was K. Waring with 21:16 left and the second was L.Watt with 8:56 left. The half ended with the Solons up 2-0. Montpelier took the Ghosts off guard in the second half when Z. Varga scored only :26 seconds into the half. After that the second half was a little bit better for the Ghosts, taking four shots and limiting the Solons to five shots. But with 28:55 left Varga scored again. The ghosts walked off the field, frustrated after the 4-0 loss. The Gal Ghosts play their last home game of the season on Thursday at 4:00.
