Father and Son Bikers
Crash on Same Day

Two motorcyclists, a father and son from New York, were involved in separate crashes in Vermont on Sunday, Oct. 7, that sent both to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

State police said that John J. Sisko, 21, of Patterson, N.Y., was en route to see his father—who was injured in a 3 p.m. crash in Stockbridge—when he lost control of his bike in heavy rain.

The father, Warren J. Sisko, 54, also of Patterson, N.Y., suffered serious injury in the first crash, a two-vehicle collision on Route 100, just south of its junction with Route 107.

Police said that Warren Sisko was southbound on his 2005 Yamaha R6 motorcycle, when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2002 Ford SUV driven by Lauren A. Field, 18, of Scituate, Mass.

Sisko suffered two broken femurs and a broken left arm in the crash and was airlifted to DHMC.

His bike was totaled, and Field’s SUV had front-end damage. She had been wearing her seatbelt and was not injured.

Two hours later, the younger Sisko was en route to DHMC, when he lost control of his 1995 Honda RF3 motorcycle on I-89 in Hartford. John Sisko was uninjured, but was transported to DHMC as a precautionary measure, police said. His bike was totaled, as well.

State police said that the younger Sisko was traveling too fast for the rainy conditions.
