Eris Thurston

SOUTH ROYALTON—Eris J. Thurston, 81, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.

She was born September 5, 1926 in Braintree, the daughter of Myron and Hila (Cook) Flint.

She attended Braintree and Randolph schools. She married Leon Thurston August 1, 1946 in Northfield. She worked at G.W. Plastics in Bethel, Rabbit Hollow Knitting and Green Mountain Glove in Randolph.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, baby sitting, and going for rides in the car. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in South Royalton.

Survivors include her husband, Leon Thurston of South Royalton; three sons: Wilbert Thurston of White River Jct., Richmond Thurston of Roxbury, and Raymond Thurston of White River Jct.; two daughters: Maxine Young of Tunbridge and Nancyanne Moulton of Royalton; four sisters: Elaine Ayotte of Newport, N.H., Elizabeth Lake and Mary Pope, both of Bakersfield, Calif., and Helen Ainsworth of Barre; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Gladys Lamb; four brothers: Herbert, Eric, Elmer and Ernest Flint; and a son-in-law, Marty Young.

Private graveside services will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery in West Braintree, with Bishop Gary Cass and David Moulton officiating. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Day Funeral Home of Randolph.
