New So. Royalton High School Reporters Introduce Themselves

In past years, South Royalton has had a student correspondent from the high school in order to share local news about the happenings regarding the school. This year, two SRHS juniors, Leah Bauder and Colin Judge, will share the position. For their first column, they have each written a little bit about themselves.

Leah Bauder

"My name is Leah Bauder. Perhaps you’ve seen me around town, or on the sports fields and courts in the past few years. I was born in Florida 16 years ago, and after moving about the country for a total of six residences in four states, finally my family and I came to South Royalton in 1999 and I entered the third grade at SoRo elementary. As a new student, I was welcomed into my class and I in turn welcomed my classmates from Sharon, Tunbridge, and occasionally, Bethel.

"I had played basketball and soccer for five and four years respectively, until this year when I made the decision to work instead of play. I was active in the high school band and chorus program, and worked behind the scenes in three South Royalton theater productions. I’m looking forward to my last two years here, becoming a more valuable part of the community by reporting for you."

Colin Judge

"I am Colin Judge. I came to South Royalton from Whitcomb at the beginning of my sophomore year. When the opportunity arose to be a school correspondent, I thought it would be a great way to get more involved in a relatively new community.

I have played soccer, basketball and baseball throughout elementary and high school, until this last year when I took up track instead of baseball. I participate in high school band and chorus, and I also play bass for a local band you might have heard of, called White Noyez.

During the winter I snowboard at Killington and Whaleback, and during the summer I work as a lifeguard at the Bethel pool. My first year in South Royalton has been fantastic, and I am looking forward to my junior and senior year in this community."
