Jeanne Hutchinson

NORTHFIELD—Jeanne T. Hutchinson, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007 at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. She was born in Brookfield, August 29, 1927, the daughter of Church and Muriel (Fullham) Tabor. She was a graduate of Randolph High School, Class of 1945.

She married Roger William Hutchinson in Randolph Center, August 31, 1946. They lived in the Randolph area for several years, prior to moving to their home on Hutchinson Road in Northfield, where she lived the past 53 years. Her husband died in 1991.

She was a key person in organizing the Quilt Festival in Northfield.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star, all of Northfield. She enjoyed her sewing, quilting and family gatherings.

Survivors include four children: Roger William Hutchinson, Jr., Susan Drown and Steven Hutchinson, all of Northfield; and Melanie Ross of North Carolina; a sister, Roberta Preston of Vergennes; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her companion, Richard Holt of Northfield Falls.

She was predeceased by a son, Michael Hutchinson; and two brothers, Robert and Duane Tabor.

Calling hours were held Monday, Sept. 24 at the Kingston Funeral Home in Northfield. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the United Methodist Church in Northfield, followed by burial in the West Brookfield Cemetery.
