Joseph Moran

GAYSVILLE—Joseph Moran, 66, formerly of Rahway, N.J., died suddenly Monday Sept. 10, 2007 at his home.

Born in Irvington, N.J., he lived in Rahway for most of his life, moving to Gaysville four years ago to a home he owned for 40 years.

Prior to his retirement in 1997, he was a firefighter with the City of Rahway for 32 years. He was a member of the Rahway FMBA, the Rahway Exempt Association, and the N.J. Firefighters Association.

He was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rahway, and was a veteran who served during peacetime with the US Air Force.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Georgene Kinneally Moran; a son, William and his wife Glennysha of Metuchen, N.J.; a daughter, Kassie Smith and her husband Shawn of Westfield, N.J.; two brothers, James and Maurice Jr., both of Rahway; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 15 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rahway, N.J. Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
