BARNARD—Barbara A. Scoskie, 63, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007 at her home. She was born July 25, 1944 in Bristol, Conn., the daughter of Waldo and Elaine (Hayes) Keinonen. She attended Bristol (Conn.) schools and graduated from Bristol High School in 1962. She moved to Bethel in 1962 and to her home in Barnard in 1964. She owned and operated Barbara’s Cleaning Service, a house cleaning service, until this past June. Her memberships included Miller Memorial Methodist Church in Bethel and the Bethel Women’s Club. She was a Girl Scout leader in Barnard for many years. She enjoyed music, quilting, sewing, cooking and flower gardening. She especially loved spending time with and fishing with her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons: John Scoskie of South Royalton and Casey Scoskie of Bridgewater Corners; her companion, Danny White of Bethel; two sisters, Marie Belanger of Springfield, Mass. and Linda Cummings of Brandon; a brother, Waldo Keinonen; and five grandchildren: Joshua and Kaylan Scoskie, and Katherine, Woodrow and Christopher Sawyer. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 9 at Miller Memorial Methodist Church, Bethel. Pastor Richard Dumont officiated, Linda Orr was the organist, and Bobbi Roy shared remembrances. Pall bearers were Jeremy Ward, Eric Roy, Kevin Huebner, John Huebner, George Spencer and Chick Cassidy. Burial was in the Methodist Cemetery in Barnard. At time of fellowship and refreshments followed at the church hall. Friends may make memorial contributions to Miller Memorial Methodist Church, N. Main St., Bethel, Vt. 05032; or to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1460, Williston, Vt. 05495. Arrangements were under the direction of the Day Funeral Home in Randolph. |
