Fourth Lost Tip Archers Event
In Randolph September 22

The Goodrich household at 389 Voghell Rd. in Randolph will host the fourth annual Lost Tip Archers Gathering Saturday, Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Shire of PantherVale, a group within the Society for Creative Anachronism (a medieval re-creation society), and is open to all interested in shooting archery.

There will be Royal Rounds, the Clout Shoot, a Roving in the Green Wood Range, and a "How Far is Far?" shoot, all on separate ranges. Plans also include a moving target, The Advancing Warrior. The event Archery Marshall is Pomestnik Ivan Sergeavich Scherbatskoy (Jonathan Scherbatskoy). Prizes will be awarded at the end of the day.

Medieval-type archery equipment will be in use. Longbows and recurve bows, without modern shooting aids, such as sights, will be the order of the day, and the arrows will be wood with feathers for fletching. Bring your own archery equipment or make use of the Shire’s loaner gear. All equipment will be inspected for safety prior to use.

Since there are no "spectators" at SCA events—only participants—plan on wearing something resembling a medieval garment, or borrow some of the loaner garb that will be available. Bring a camp chair, tables will be provided.

A dayboard (buffet) will be served by Lady Katharine Whytton (Kathleen Menninger) and Lord Dafyyd O Llyn Cwellyn (David O. Witt).

General admission fees include the meal. Children under 12 may attend free.

To get to this event from Exit 4 of I-89, proceed down the hill about 1/3 of a mile and turn left at Fish Hill Rd. Go about 1/3 of a mile and turn left onto Voghell Rd. Go about a 1/3 of a mile to the Goodrich homestead on the left.
