Vermont Movie "The Junior Defenders," a comedy feature film produced entirely in Vermont, had its world premiere last Saturday in Burlington. Warner Home Video will release the movie on DVD and Video-on-Demand nationwide on October 23, 2007. The movie is about a crazed fan who goes on a mission to kidnap the former cast of a 1970s kids superhero show in order to produce his own episode. He steals a Winnebago, brings the show's ex-child stars back to Hollywood, takes over a soundstage, and then forces them to act in a new episode of the show. Legendary indie director John Waters ("Hairspray") is the film's narrator. Vermont actors appearing in the film include Rusty Dewees, Matt Dunne, Neil Cleary, Magic Hat Brewery Founder Alan Newman, Burlington City Arts Director Doreen Kraft, and actor Paul Schnabel. |
