Phillip Emmons BRAINTREE—Phillip S. Emmons, 82, of Braintree, died Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Mayo Health Care in Northfield. He was born January 15, 1925 in New York City, N.Y.; the son of William A. and Caroline (Romig) Emmons. Stationed in India as a medical technician in the U.S. Army during World War II, he pursued an interest in photography and filmed many aspects of Indian society, architecture, and culture, which graced his home for many years. After returning from the war, he worked for Bethlehem Steel. He married Ethel Trimp in New York City on April 10, 1954. Upon retirement, they moved to Riford Brook Road in Braintree in 1982, where they indulged his love of animals, especially stray dogs and cats. His wife died in 1997. Survivors include his brother, Ronald Emmons of Red Bank, N.J.; and his first wife, Nancy Janson of Tucson, Ariz. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Aug. 29 at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, with the Rev. Kathy Eddy, officiating. There were no calling hours.
