Dorothy Savidge WASHINGTON, VT—Dorothy Bogert Savidge, 92, died August 27, 2007 in Sewell, N.J. She was born January 18, 1915 in Wycoff, N.J., the daughter of Ella Hoover and Leroy Duthie Bogert. She attended school in Hackensack, NJ and graduated from Trenton State College in 1935 with a degree in elementary education. She and her family were residents of the Hopewell Township-Lambertville area in New Jersey for many years. She taught elementary school in the Pt. Pleasant, N.J., West Amwell, N.J., and Hopewell Township, N.J. school systems. She was a member of the United Church of Chelsea and of Green Mountain Hooking Guild, and was active with the Chelsea Senior Citizens. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and James Jefferis of Monroeville, N.J.; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Mary of Washington, Vt,; Peter and Brenda of Princeton, N.J.; Paul of Falmouth Foreside, Maine; and Mark of Chelsea; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, George S. Savidge, who died March 27, 2007; and her sister, Thelma Roby. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1 at Highland Cemetery, Hopewell, N.J. A remembrance service (date to be announced) will also be held in Chelsea. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a donation to the Chelsea Senior Center, c/o Susan Hoff, Chelsea, Vt. 05038. The Blackwell Memorial Home in Pennington, N.J. is in charge of arrangements. ____________ |
