Sensible Solution
In So. Royalton
Royalton has an opportunity to improve and update our school. On Sept. 11 we will vote on a new entrance and a regulation size gym. These changes will
Enhance the security and safety of all students with a central entrance and safer bus and car circulation;
Allow the current multi-purpose room to be used as a cafeteria and provide the elementary school with a much needed dedicated physical education space;
Allow more flexibility in scheduling high school courses;
Allow us to maintain our excellent academic, technical and athletic programs;
Keep our school in our community- after all, it is a hub of activity for cultural and sports programming in Royalton- and help us stave off pressures to consolidate our district which may lead to placing a central high school far away from the village center.
A vote for these improvements will lead to a modern and attractive school to many students with high school choice. An optimum student body number will allow us to continue to keep per pupil spending below our neighbors' costs, and will help continue our excellent programs.
Please cast your informed vote on Tuesday Sept. 11. Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Absentee ballots are available also at the town clerk's office: 763-7207.
