The Vermont Symphony Orchestra will return to Randolph this autumn with its annual "Made in Vermont" music festival. The popular series will travel across the state from Thursday, Sept. 27 through Sunday, Oct. 7. It will stop in Randolph Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. The VSO will serenade audiences in nine Vermont cities and towns. Its program this fall includes a quartet of serenades: two exuberant works for winds and strings by Dvorak and Tchaikovsky; a world premiere by Irasburg composer Sara Doncaster called "Rush Patrick’s Vision;" and a special adaptation by Anthony Princiotti of Hugo Wolf’s lighthearted Italian Serenade. Sara Doncaster, director of the Warebrook Contemporary Music Festival, is composing her new work specifically for the tour. Performances will be conducted by Anthony Princiotti. Besides Randolph the Made in Vermont Festival will include stops in Vergennes, Johnson, Lyndonville, Derby Line, Manchester, Castleton, Middlebury, and Lebanon, N.H. Tourwide support for the "Made in Vermont" tour is provided by Vermont State Colleges and Chittenden Bank. A generous discount on ticket prices will be available for Vermont State College faculty and staff, for all students, and especially—at $6—for VSC students. For details, visit www.vso.org. |
