Hancock-Granville
Village School Begins

The school year will begin at the Village School of Hancock and Granville Wednesday, Aug. 29. The bus stops and pickup times will be the same as last year.

Classes for grades 1-4 begin at 8 a.m. at the Hancock campus and at 8:15 a.m. for grades 5 and 6 at the Granville campus. Kindergarten will have half-day sessions in the afternoon at the Granville campus.

At press time, the school was still looking for a long-term substitute for the third and fourth grade teacher, Heather Harvey, who is on maternity leave.

Parent volunteers will paint the school entryway at the Hancock campus in time to have the work done for the opening of school.

School breakfast will cost 75 cents and lunch is $1.50, with milk at 35 cents.

At the Granville campus, the old hearse building has been removed. The Granville campus is scheduled to be cleaned by some citizens who need to do community service work.
