Michael Rattee Gives Poetry

Reading in Randolph Aug. 14

Michael Rattee will visit his hometown of Randolph and give a poetry reading at Kimball Library Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m.

Rattee graduated from RUHS in 1971 and attended UVM until 1976. In 1978, he moved to Arizona where he currently lives.

Over the years, besides writing and publishing poetry, Rattee edited PRICKLY PEAR/Tucson, a poetry quarterly, and co-directed the Mosaic Reading Series. He has guest-lectured on poetry in public schools and in adult continuing education classes. His poetry has been published in many literary journals and anthologies beginning in 1976. Rattee received a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in poetry in 1984.

Adastra Press published his first book, "Mentioning Dreams, in a limited fine letterpress edition in 1985. His second poetry collection, "Calling Yourself Home," was published by Cleveland State University. "Enough Said," a collection of 14 poems written as a poetry correspondence between his son, Kiev (who currently lives in Vermont), and Michael, was published by Adastra Press in 2002. In 2007 his chapbook of 12 poems, "Greatest Hits 1976-2006," was issued by Pudding House Publications in Columbus Ohio.
