BARRE—Shawna Linn Brown, 13, of Barre, died Monday afternoon, July 30, 2007, in Hancock, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. She was born on June 17, 1994, in Randolph, the daughter of Anthony Brown and Rebekka Ward. She was raised in Granville and moved to Barre in 2003. She had finished the seventh grade at Barre Town Middle School. She enjoyed fishing, boating, horseback riding, computers, bicycle riding, swimming and music. Survivors include her father, Anthony Brown and his partner Cindy Belisle of Granville; mother, Rebekka Ward and her partner Juan Carlsen of Barre; Juan’s mother Joan Carlsen and sister Angela Carlsen, both of Ocean City, N.J.; a brother, Justin Mongeur and sister, Kelly Mongeur, both of Pittsfield; maternal grandparents, George and Sherry Ward of Granville; paternal great-grandmother, Jesamine Larrow of Waitsfield; maternal great-grandmothers, Claire Foley of Miami, Fla. and Ruth Ward of Canton, Penna.; step-grandfather, Otho Needham of Granville; aunts, Sherry Larrow of Waitsfield and Rachel Prewett of Rochester; uncle, Timmy Brown and his wife Meg of Hancock; and many cousins. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Roland and Audrey Brown. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, at 1 p.m. at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph, with Pastor Thomas Harty officiating. Burial will follow in Granville.
