We wish to let the person know that the items taken from the graves in the Holy Cross Cemetery were not yours to take. Two Eternal Memorial Lights and one plant were removed. The plant was there long enough so it had to be cut (18 years). This is stealing, plain and simple. I am almost positive you are aware of the 8th Commandment, and I am aware of who you are, as you were seen. I understand in the church bulletin it was stated items had to be removed from the cemetery, reason given the people who take care of the cemetery do not like working around the items. Not true (9th Commandment). They were asked and it did not bother them. I saw the bulletins after items were removed. Not all families of the deceased belong to the church. I am confused: Bulletin dated 06/03/07 says everything must be removed; bulletin dated 06/10/07 says a pot of flowers can be placed in front or on either side of the monument. The plant mentioned above was beside the stone. How can this be consistent? My suggestion to you is write a check to the families you stole from, for the cost of new candles and holder, amount is $89.95, a plant should be replaced for the one you destroyed. If you would care to explain why, call 728-3680. I am glad to listen. Do not blame those who take good care of the cemetery. If I’m not at home, leave a message and I certainly will get back to you. You might wonder why we care. The Eternal Memorial Light was taken from our father’s and grandfather’s grave, and we do not at all appreciate the actions you have taken upon yourself to work things out with one another rather than bringing matters to public courts (I Corinthians 6).
