Randolph Forms
Energy Committee

Randolph now has an Energy Committee.

Patrick French, the town assessor and a former selectman, announced the current make-up of the new nine-member committee at the selectboard meeting Monday night.

The panel’s job is two-fold, he told the board. The first is to save energy for the town by seeking efficiencies in its buildings and elsewhere. The second is to explore "other areas" relating to energy production and use.

Members will include, besides French, Larry Richburg, Susan Mills, Joan Richmond Hall, Justin Idoine, Tim Caulfield, Chuck Webb, Frank Reed, and Pam Yerrington.

The committee, he noted, includes a couple of Braintree residents with good experience.

The committee already has had two meetings, French said. During one, they met with a representative of Efficiency Vermont, discussing such things as streetlights and having an energy audit of town buildings, as well as the sewage treatment plant.

French noted there is a lot of potential also in tapping the expertise of various experts at Vermont Technical College.

If anyone else is interested in working with the committee, he or she should contact Town Manager Peter Butterfield.
