Lawrence Awarded Language Prize

The Randolph High School foreign language department has announced that Liz Lawrence, daughter of Pat and Doug Lawrence, has won a prize in the Vermont Foreign Language Association’s essay contest.

The theme of this year’s contest was "the armchair traveler" and students were asked to describe how it is possible to travel the world without ever leaving home. "Imagination" was the theme of Lawrence’s essay, and she was applauded by the VFLA judges for organization, creative ideas and thoughtful cultural perspectives.

Lawrence will attend the University of Vermont this fall, where she will continue to study French with a concentration in history.
