Irene R. Kendall

ST. ALBANS—Irene R. Kendall, 78, formerly of Randolph, died Saturday, June 9, 2007 surrounded by her daughters, at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

She was born May 13, 1929 in Burlington, the daughter of Frederick and Flora Rood. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1947 and from the Gifford School of Nursing in 1950.

She married Roland Kendall June 10, 1950. She worked as an R.N. at Gifford Memorial Hospital in Randolph, for many years. She was active in the Girl Scouts and enjoyed flower gardening and bird watching.

For the past several years, she had made her home with her daughter Julie and family.

Survivors include her daughters: Janel Kendall of New York City, Jeannine Trudel and husband, Wayne, of Bakersfield and Julie Williams and husband, Steve, of Georgia (Vt.); six grandchildren: Katherine Barut, Aynsley, Tarah and Nik Gay, and Aaren and Michael Williams; two great-grandsons: Benico Infantes and Anthony Massimi; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Roland, a great-grandson, Lorenzo Gay; and two sisters, Florence Sullivan and Clara Rood.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 13 at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Randolph.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Kimball Public Library, N. Main St., Randolph, Vt. 05060.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Day Funeral Home of Randolph.
