Bridge Sculpture? Selex Are Intrigued "Pretty cool!" That was the response of Selectboard Chair Jim Hutchinson, as others nodded in agreement, to a new idea for decorating the new Main Street Bridge in Randolph. Randolph sculptor Jim Sardonis, who created the famous Whales Tails monument, is asking the town to consider adding a sculpture that would add distinction to the new bridge. Selectman Ken Goss passed around a drawing of Sardonis’ proposal, which would create tall, airy fiddlehead ferns atop the posts along the new bridge. Board members seemed pleasantly surprised. "We’re receptive," said Larry Townsend. Sardonis will be invited to attend the first meeting in July. |
