Print Salaries
In Town Report

Maybe that I currently hold no publicly elective office gives me more credibility in questioning; maybe not, but it’s a fact. I’m private. For two years now I have expressed my own opinion I think those who are public officials or employees should have their salaries printed by their names in the Royalton Town Report.

Apparently there are those who disagree with me, because not only are the names still omitted, but the auditor’s office has been abolished (to which office I finally achieved election).

The town clerk and some selectpeople say the salaries are easily discerned by reading the numbers. I ask, if it is so easy, why do those who disagree with me not want the names published? I hope it is not two more years before traditional public disclosure of public salaries is the remedy.
