After over 10 years of service to Brookfield, I am regretfully resigning from my position on the selectboard, due to an increasing workload in my business. My time on the selectboard has been an incredible opportunity to make a difference in the community and to help our residents, who are the heart of Brookfield. Several people deserve special recognition for helping me along the way: John Sprague, Bill Johnson, and Hank Buermann took a risk and encouraged me to run for the board. I am grateful to them for sharing their remarkable knowledge of Brookfield and providing guidance and leadership during my time with them. Pat Nash and Jane Woodruff have been gracious in teaching me the basic mechanics of how the town operates, while politely correcting any errors I made along the way. Working with both of them has been both a unique education and a pleasure. Mike McPhetres and John Benson have demonstrated great intelligence, common sense, and patience in tackling the business of Brookfield. I have been fortunate to serve with them, and the town’s government remains in particularly capable hands. Finally, to the people of Brookfield: I am grateful to all of you for giving me the chance to be a selectman. The experience has confirmed my belief that Brookfield is a magnificent town in which to live, work, and raise a family. Thank you, Jeff Kimmel Brookfield |
