The American Legion Post #9 will host the annual Memorial Day parade in Randolph on Monday, May 28. The parade will form beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the DuBois & King parking lot on School Street. The parade will step off at 10 a.m., proceed east on School Street, south on Main Street, east on Maple Street, and finally north on South Pleasant Street to Grant Park for a traditional wreath-laying ceremony. The parade will disband from Grant Park following the ceremony. (In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the Randolph Union High School gym). Guest speaker this year will be Daniel Boone, Vermont state commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and owner of Boone’s Locksmith Shop in Randolph. Following the village observance at 12:45 p.m., a service will be held and refreshments provided at the B-17 crash site memorial on Fish Hill. |
