Alternative Wellness Experts
Present Health Fair Saturday

Have a sore neck? How about trying a free chair massage offered by a professional massage therapist.

Is your aging dog getting a little stiff? Learn some massage techniques that you can use at home to give your faithful friend some relief.

These are samples of the many health and wellness topics that will be featured at a community fair on Saturday, May 19. The fair will be held on the grounds of the Mari-Castle complex on South Main Street in Randolph.

The free event, presented by the staff of Integrative Health, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will feature information, displays, and demonstrations on a range of health topics and alternative approaches to healing. N

aturopathic physician Dr. Christopher Hollis will be available to answer questions.

Fair attendees will have access to information on common health concerns including hypertension and diabetes, and can hear Dr. Hollis explain less familiar alternative approaches to healing and wellness including acupuncture, Chinese medicine, feng shui, infrared imaging, Reiki, and the medicinal use of herbs and supplements.

Integrative Health’s massage professionals Terry Heath and Emily Harvey will provide free chair massages, intended to be a pleasant and abbreviated introduction to the real thing. The procedure takes about ten minutes, can be performed outside, and no clothing need be removed.

Pet massage specialist Laura Craft will demonstrate animal massage techniques, and those who bring a pet to the fair can begin to practice the techniques on their own.

Also on hand will be midwives Anita Onofrio and Cynthia Stadler of Full Circle Women’s Health, Randolph Chiropractor Dr. Trevor Gilbert, and herbalist Julie Manchester of Woodsong Herbals.

Music, art, food, and activities for children will round out the event. The rain date is Sunday, May 20, from 10 to 2.

Integrative Health was established in July, 2006, in the Mari-Castle complex and offers complementary and alternative approaches to healing and wellness including naturopathic medicine, homeopathy, acupuncture, and a variety of massage therapies. The staff includes Dr. Hollis, a naturopathic physician and licensed acupuncturist, and massage professionals Terry Heath and Emily Harvey.
