New Farmstand Venture Hopes To Fill Co-op Void A Randolph couple wants to help fill the gap left in the local shopping scene when the Randolph Cooperative Market closed last month. Scott Aronson and his wife Tammy will soon begin operating the Randolph Farm Stand next to Central Supplies, offering products that will be as locally-produced as possible. "We intend to carry a full line of seasonal, locally grown, and organic produce," said Aronson. "We’ll offer things like fresh herbs and greens from Vermont Herb and Salad Company, goat cheeses and butter from Vermont Butter and Cheese, cow cheeses from Neighborly Farms, Woodstock Water Buffalo yogurt, and dessert cakes from Joseph Pastries." Aronson is no stranger to the food business. He’s a long-time chef, he said, and most recently was the food buyer and manager for the Woodstock Farmer’s Market. And many in the Randolph area are familiar with his wife Tammy through her fine jewelry venture, TLA Originals, which had a shop on Merchant’s Row. "We’ve been part of this community for many years," said Aronson, "and we’re pleased to be able to offer a business that we believe will fill a need, especially now that the Co-op has closed." They haven’t set an exact opening date, but hope it will be within the next week. The business hours will be Tuesday through Saturday from 10 to 6, and Sunday from 10 to 3. |
