South Royalton is back for a new softball season and proving to be tough competition. After a rough start, losing their first game on April 21 in a double-header against Enosburg with a score of 15-1, SoRo came back in the second game to beat them 9-0. Their next game on the 23rd was a win against the Division I school Hartford with a score of 10-2. These two wins began a string of victories against Rochester and Rivendell. The most recent game on Tuesday, May 1 against Whitcomb didn’t disappoint the fans either. In the very beginning of the game, freshman Logan Russell hit a phenomenal home run into center field, giving an early boost over Whitcomb. SoRo dominated the home field, culminating in a five-inning game and a score of 15-0. South Royalton’s next game is on Thursday, May 3 at Lake Region.
