Whitcomb’s First Two Track Meets

On Monday, the Hornets competed at Green Mountain and then two days later they joined seven other teams at U-32. Even with only one day between the meets and coming back from spring break, the team was awesome.

The Whitcomb boys include Ben Carsteens, Adam Sennett, Nathan Tipton, Donald Harrington, Joe Kill, and Peter Burgos. Representing the Lady Hornets are June Claughton, Mikayla Dieffenbach, Meredith Kill, and Killian White.

The meet Wednesday showed off all the talents on the team. Both the girls and boys had a relay team for the first time in years, the girls placing second and the boys placing fourth. Tipton, Harrington and Dieffenbach placed in the high jump. Burgos and Joe Kill placed sixth and seventh in the 1500 and fourth and fifth in the 3000, with Burgos coming in right before J. Kill in both races.

The 100 hurdles found both Dieffenbach and White placing. Dieffenbach also place sixth in the long jump. Meredith Kill placed fifth in the 400 and sixth in the 100. Claughton had a very exciting 800, pulling into a fourth place finish.

Whitcomb’s next meet is at U-32 again and they can’t wait to get there because they have new and improved skills to try out.
