Gene Holbrook

LAKE WALES, FLA.—Gene Holbrook, 47, died suddenly on April 28, 2007 in Blue Ridge, Ga., while building a vacation home with his wife.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Survivors include his wife, Shelly Holbrook of Lake Wales, Fla.; two daughters, Dusti Holbrook of Randolph and Sarah Ballentine of South Royalton; his mother and step-father, Elizabeth and Sherman Manning of Frostproof, Fla.; Este Manning of Williamstown; two brothers, William and Christopher Holbrook, both of Braintree; two sisters, Irene Parker of Haines City, Fla., and Linda Holbrook of East Randolph; and two grandchildren, Paige and Tyler Ballentine.

Cremation took place and a private memorial service was held April 30 at the Akins Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, Ga.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
