Wyman C. Stetson NORWICH--Wyman C. "Stub" Stetson, 81, died Thursday April 19, 2007 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. He was born October 17, 1925 in New London, N.H., a son of Clarence and Stella (Burnor) Stetson. He graduated from high school in Andover, N.H. in 1943 and then served aboard the USS Weeden DE797. He worked for a time at Armour Meat Packing in St. Petersburg, Fla. before becoming a truck driver for Gay's Trucking and then Holmes Transportation for 33 years. He married Jeannie Allaire. She died in 1948. He then married Doris Facto and that ended in divorce. He later married Martha Edmunds. He was a member and trustee of Retired Teamsters Local 597 of Barre, the American Legion Post 80 of Island Pond, and was trustee of the Beaver Meadow Chapel of Norwich. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to camp in Newark, reading, doing search-a-word puzzles and traveling. He also enjoyed his pets over the years. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Richard Stetson of Andover, N.H. Survivors include his wife of Norwich; a daughter, Doris LaMontange of Thetford; a brother, Ralph, and his wife, Winnie; and a sister-in-law, Grace, all of Andover, N.H; a brother-in-law, Arden Edmunds Jr. and his wife, Jackie, of West Braintree; as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Beaver Meadow Chapel in Norwich with burial in the Hillside Cemetery also in Norwich. Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., assisted with arrangements.
