REDINGTON SHORES, FLA. --Irma M. Haikara, 96, of Redington Shores, Fla. died Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park, Fla.

She was born in Helsinki, Finland and moved to Florida in 1955 from Bethel. She was a former maid at La Playa and Sandalwood hotels in Redington Shores. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and collecting and recycling aluminum cans from the beach. She was Methodist.

Survivors include a son, John E. of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews in Vermont.

A memorial service was held April 21 at the Oak Hurst Methodist Church in Seminole, Fla.
