RANDOLPH—Doris G. Jackson, 81, died Friday, April 13, 2007, at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph. She was born March 26, 1926, in Royalton, the daughter of John and Marie (Richards) Garrett. She attended Royalton schools and graduated from St. Micahel’s High School in Montpelier in 1944. She married Alain D. Jackson May 26, 1945, in Randolph. He died in 1965. She worked as a seamstress for many years at Van Raalte (which later became Merrimaids and then Vermont Sports) in Randolph, until her retirement in 1993. She enjoyed watching the birds, being outdoors and attending Randolph Village Fire Department functions. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Jody Neff and husband Philip of Randolph; a brother, William Garrett of Barre; a sister, Lucille Salls of Randolph; two grandsons, Ryan Dodge and Mark Dodge and his wife Noel; and two great-grandsons, Jackson and Alexander Dodge. She was predeceased by her companion of 32 years, Wilber "Buster" Bowen. Graveside memorial services will be held at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Randolph at a later date. There no calling hours.
